Wired, Tired, and Stuck on High Alert? Let's Talk about Your Nervous System

Have you ever felt exhausted but unable to properly switch off? Or noticed that even when life seems "fine", your body feels tense, on edge, or constantly under pressure? This is something I see - and have experienced myself - far more often than we realise. And very often, it comes back to the nervous system. Your nervous system plays a huge role in how you feel day to day. It influences your energy levels, sleep, digestion, immune health, hormones, mood, and even how resilient you feel to stress. When it is under pressure for a long time, it can quietly shift your body into a state of survival - even when there is no immediate threat. In my latest podcast episode, I explore:

  • What the nervous system actually does (and what it doesn't)

  • What it can feel like when it's out of balance

  • How chronic stress, busy lifestyles, and constant stimulation affect the body

  • Why symptoms like fatigue, low mood, poor sleep, and frequent illness aren't random

  • And 5 tips on how to help support your nervous system.

This episode isn't about quick fixes or doing more. It's about understanding what your body is responding to - and why slowing down can sometimes be the most supportive thing you can do. I also share my perspective as a fitness professional and someone who has personally experienced high stress and burnout, alongside practical ways to start thinking differently about recovery, rest, and regulation. 🎧 You can listen to the full episode here: https://amaliaswellbeingpod.podbean.com/e/wired-tired-and-stuck-on-high-alert-how-to-support-your-nervous-system/ Amalia's Wellbeing Pod is also available on Apple and Spotify.
